CLARK’S TALBOT NAMED TO A PAIR OF SOCCER ALL-REGION TEAMS
Clark University’s Matt Talbot capped off his career with a pair of All-New England soccer team selections, it was announced on Tuesday. The senior goalkeeper has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III All-New England fourth team and the D3kicks.com All-New England Region second team.
A native of Harvard, Mass., Talbot helped lead Clark (11-4-2, 3-2-1 NEWMAC) to the number one scoring defense in the conference this season. The two-time All-Conference goalie topped the league in goals against average (.40) and save percentage (.894), and ranked second in winning percentage (.706). Ranking eighth in goals against average and 11th in save percentage in the nation, Talbot began the season with six straight shutouts, one shy of tying the school mark (7), and concluded his senior season with a career-high 10 shutouts. Additionally, the Cougars’ co-captain led the team to the eighth-best shutout percentage (.65) in the nation.
