Women's Tennis Falls to Babson College

WORCESTER, Mass 9/29/07. - The Clark University women’s tennis team dropped its second straight game to Babson College, 9-0, in NEWMAC action on Saturday. The Cougars dipped to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in the NEWMAC. The Beavers are now 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

Emily Schweitzer held the closest match of the day at number six, but fell to Babson’s Lindsey Ford, 7-6 (6), 1-6, 10-8. Junior co-captain Kali Hogan and sophomore Jessica Huang stepped up to number one doubles and earned an 8-5 victory for Babson, while senior co-captain Jamie Burke and sophomore Lorena Becerra prevailed 8-2 in their first performance of the year at number two. The first-year tandem of Nadja Adilovic and Caroline Hobert also won for Babson, as they edged Clark's tandem of Ashley Faden and Willa Dunn, 9-7, at number three.

Junior Courtney Farrell led Babson in singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number one. Hogan added a 6-2, 6-1 win at two, and junior Heather Walsh cruised at three, 6-0, 6-0. Huang and sophomore Liz Sheerin also won in straight sets at four and five, respectively.
