Women's Tennis Swept by Smith College
NORTHAMPTON, MASS. 10/02/07 - The Clark University womens tennis team were swept by the Pioneers of Smith College, 9-0, in New England Womens and Mens Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action Tuesday afternoon.
With the victory, Smith improved to 2-3 overall and in conference play while Clark fell to 1-8 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
Sophomore Miyu Kikuchi (Tokyo, Japan) led off the Pioneers sweep with a win at number one singles and then teamed up with doubles partner Diana Fiumefreddo (Winchester, VA) and defeated Mika Sneddon (Weston, CT) and Freddie Palmer (Newton, MA) 8-1. Senior Catherine Lydecker (Conway, NH) and Alanna Dick (Winthrop, ME) didn't give up a point in their 8-0 defeat of Kristen Domurad (Merrimack, NH) and Phoebe Livingston (Jamestown, RI) at second doubles while Jacqueline Sager (Nantucket, MA) and Margaret Steiner (Madison, CT) took the third doubles match 8-1.
Clark will host Rhode Island College on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The Pioneers continue NEWMAC competition this weekend when they host Wheaton College at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

3. Seiko Fujii defeated Kristen Domurad, 6-2, 6-3

5. Nicole Anderson defeated Emily Schweitzer, 6-1, 6-0
6. Vida Chen defeated Phoebe Livingston, 6-0, 6-2
Doubles
1. Fiumefreddo/Kikuchi defeated Sneddon/Palmer, 8-1
2. Lydecker/Alanna Dick defeated Domurad/Livingston, 8-0
3. Sager/Steiner defeated Nathan/Schweitzer, 8-1
