Women's Tennis Beats Bay Path, 8-1

LONGMEADOW, MASS. 10/09/07 - The Clark University women’s tennis team defeated Bay Path College, 8-1, in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon.

Clark claims just their second victory of the season to improve to 2-10 overall.

The Cougars swept doubles play with Kristen Domurad and Phoebe Livingston leading the way at number one, 8-5. Freddie Palmer and Willa Dunn teamed up for an 8-2 win at number two and Emily Schweitzer and Andrea Nathan blanked their opponents at number three, 8-0.

Clark secured the match with five singles victories. Palmer captured a 6-3, 6-2 win at number one, Domurad earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at number two, Nathan defeated her opponent at number four, 6-2, 6-1, Schweitzer shutout Bay Path’s number five player, 6-0, 6-0, and Dunn claimed a 6-2, 6-2 victory over number six.

Clark will travel to Mount Holyoke College on Saturday for a NEWMAC match (1 p.m.).
