head coach Mickey Cahoon

Mickey Cahoon begins his first season as head coach of the Clark University women’s volleyball and men’s tennis programs. After directing middle and high school programs for the last 10-years, Cahoon embarks on his collegiate coaching career with the Cougars.

Cahoon joins Clark after spending the last three seasons as head varsity volleyball coach at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, Mass., where he led NDA to a 50-17 overall record and a pair of consecutive trips to the Division II South Sectional Tournament, including a championship appearance last year.

Prior to Notre Dame, the Bourne, Mass., native, who competes in the men’s professional division of the New England volleyball circuit, also assisted 10-time State Championship head coach Tom Turco at Barnstable High School. Under Turco’s tutelage, Cahoon helped guide the Red Raiders to the 2003 Division I State Title.

In between a pair of volleyball tenures, Cahoon was at the helm of the varsity boy’s tennis team at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School (1998-2004), where he was named Cape Cod Times Boy’s Tennis Coach of the Year in 2003. He has also served as a resident tennis professional at the Weston Racquet Club.

Cahoon believes a high-level of expectation and enthusiasm, coupled with a disciplined work-ethic, will be the key to the Cougars’ success.

A graduate of Bridgewater State College, where he played tennis, Cahoon went on to receive his master’s degree in Counseling at Boston University. He will reside in South Boston with his wife, Jennifer.
