Foreign Languages and Literatures
Programs
The Department offers majors in Spanish, French, Comparative Literature and Ancient Civilization. It is also possible, at the Department’s discretion, to major in more than one language (the combined foreign languages major). Minors are available in French, German, and Spanish. Additional courses in Chinese, Classical Greek, Hebrew, Japanese and Latin are offered.

Combined Foreign Languages Major

Students combine study in two languages (German, French or Spanish) with a course in comparative literature and two semesters of study abroad in a culture in which one of the target languages is spoken. Please see the Academic Catalog (link at right) for more details.
