Located on the fourth floor of Goddard Library, the Language Arts Resource Center houses a collection of
materials--audiocassettes, CDs,
CDROMs, videos, DVDs and software--that support courses in the Department. There are audio
booths, VCR and DVD stations and a computer
station for CDROMs and software. The Language Arts Resource
Center also receives, via SCOLA (Satellite Communications for
Learning), news broadcasts from around the world.
The Language Arts Resource Center is staffed during the school year by Professor Montross and several work-study students. If you are interested in working at the Language Arts Resource Center, please contact Professor Montross.

5. Where can my students use computer disks, CD's, CDROM's or connect to the internet?
There is one computer station at LARC. In addition there are CD players that are available for patron use. In addition, patrons may check out laptops at the Circulation Desk on the 2nd floor of Goddard. The patrons should bring their own head-sets.
6. What computer classrooms are available on campus?
There is no computer classroom at LARC; faculty may however reserve the computer classrooms in Jonas Clark by calling the Registrar's Office, 793-7426., sturec@clarku.edu. Faculty should check with Media Services about other multi-media classrooms on campus. For training and assistance for these rooms, faculty should check with ITS and Media Services: http://www.clarku.edu/technology.cfm and http://www.clarku.edu/offices/mediaservices/index.cfm.
7. Can the LARC staff make copies of materials for educational use?
In the case of some copyrighted materials, i.e, audiocassettes for some foreign language texts, the publishers have given permission to have copies made. The LARC staff will make copies when we have the permission to do so. In that case, patrons should bring a 90 minute audio cassette tape to LARC and the staff person will copy the language program onto that tape. Please note that there will be space at the beginning of the Side B program if the program is less than 45 minutes long.
In the case of other multi-media materials, please refer to the sites under Copyright, below.
