Geography
Programs
The Graduate School of Geography offers a major, minor and electives for undergraduates and a Ph.D. program. Qualified Clark undergraduates can take advantage of an accelerated fifth year program that leads to a B.A./M.A. in Geographic Information Science. An M.A. in Geographic Information Science for Development and Environment is available through a shared program with the Department of International Development, Community and Environment.

GRE (Graduate Record Exam), TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and TSE (Test of Spoken English)

Please have your GRE and/or TOEFL Scores mailed directly from the testing centers to Clark. Scores should arrive at Clark in time to be included in our admissions process.

1. GRE (Graduate Record Exam) Scores are required from United States, Canadian applicants, and those from other countries who have done past B.A. work in an English speaking university setting. We strongly encourage other foreign students to take the GRE exam and have the scores mailed to us.

Institution Code for Clark University is 3279.
Department Code for Geography is 2203.

While recent GRE test results are preferred, we will accept older GRE scores. If the Testing Service will not issue a GRE score because it is outdated, we will accept a photocopy. If it is not possible for the Testing Service to get the scores to us by December 31 and you have a copy, please send us a photocopy (an official copy, however, will be expected from the testing service as soon as possible).

Applicants have asked whether or not an application will be reviewed if the GRE scores are missing. The answer to that is, yes, but the likelihood of acceptance without the GRE scores is less.

Information on GRE Examination sites and dates can be obtained from: Graduate Record Examinations, Educational Testing Service, P.O. Box 6000, Princeton, NJ 08541-6000, USA. The website is: http://www.ets.org/

2. TOEFL Scores (or the results of another English proficiency test) and the TOEFL test of spoken English (TSE) are required of those students from countries where English is not the first language. An exception is made for students who are currently studying in the United States, Canada, Great Britain or Australia or who have received a degree from a university in those countries. Failure to include a TOEFL score or other English proficiency certification will limit your chances of acceptance.

Institution Code for Clark University is 3279.
Department Code for Geography is 70.

Information on TOEFL sites and dates can be obtained from: Test of English as a Second Language, P.O. Box 6151, Princeton, NJ 08541-6151, USA. The website is: http://www.toefl.org/

Because competition to our School is keen, we suggest that applications be complete to strengthen your chances of acceptance.

Applicants will receive an e-mail message confirming receipt of completed applications.
