Public Education and Public Service
The Strassler Family Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies is committed to serving the public. Each year, the Center hosts a lecture series, free and open to the public, that brings leading scholars to campus. The Center has hosted such scholars as Professors Yehuda Bauer, Nechama Tec, Michael Marrus, and Marion Kaplan.
In the realm of public service, the Strassler Family Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies faculty have educated public school teachers about the Holocaust, consulted on a number of film and television projects, participated in the public debate over many Holocaust related issues and shaped the plans for the conservation and preservation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau
State Museum.
