Current Research Interests
Professor Angel's research focus is technological and organizational change. Within this general area, he works on both issues of global economic change and the environment, particularly high technology industrialization and green technology development. Current funded research includes:
- A study of economic globalization and environmental performance in the cement industry in China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, funded by the National Science Foundation, Geography and Regional Science Program.
- A study of the integration of economic and environmental policy in China and Chinese Taipei, funded by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
- Research support for UNIDO in efforts to promote sustainable industrialization in economically marginalized economies, funded by UNIDO.
