Bio:
Brandon received a PhD from the University of Washington, with Dr. Joseph Ammirati, Jr. At Clark he is working on the "Assembling the Fungal Tree of Life" project.
Research interests:
Brandon's PhD thesis concerned taxonomy, phylogeny, and
biogeography of Inocybe, a group of ectomycorrhizal agarics. Along with
Ben Hall and Yajuan Liu, Brandon was one of the first to employ RNA polymerase
gene sequences in fungal phylogenetics. The AFTOL project on which he is now
working involves multi-locus phylogenies across the entire spectrum of
basidiomycetes.
