Bio: I did my PhD at the University of Szeged, Hungary, where I was working on the evolutionary significance of autodigestion in the mushroom family Psathyrellaceae. I used phylogenetic comparative methods to understand why these fungi synthesize autodigestive enzymes and what environment they are adapted to. In parallel I performed taxonomic revisions of several groups of coprinoid fungi, including Coprinellus, Parasola and section Lanatuli in Coprinopsis.

Research Interests

I have a general interest in evolution, but most delighted by phenotypic evolutionary innovations, their effects on species diversification and adaptation capabilities. I worked on how explosive radiations can be treated in phylogenetic analyses and how to model the build-up of phenotypic diversity using discrete characters. I am also interested in the theory of phylogenetic methods and have some basic skills in programming. Previously I worked on taxonomy and systematics of several groups in the Agaricales.
