Christine Noel, Director of Choral Activities, has recently led the Clark Choirs in performances of Handel's Messiah and Faure Requiem. Under her positive leadership, the Clark Choirs have expanded in number and have brought recognition and pride to Clark University. Dr. Noel also serves as Associate Conductor of the Providence Singers, which she has prepared for performances of Messiah, Carmina Burana, and Mahler, Symphony No. 3. Founder and Artistic Director of the Rhode Island Children's Chorus, she has conducted at conventions of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and the Music Educators' National Conference (MENC). An active festival clinician and adjudicator, Dr. Noel holds a Master of Music and a Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University. She studied in Italy and completed the superior level of Italian studies at the University of Florence. She served as assistant conductor and vocal coach for Italian choirs Animae Voces and Coro Polifonico di Caricentro di Firenze. A recipient of a Ridgway Shinn Fellowship in 1998, Dr. Noel is a graduate of the Kodály Institute of Music in Kecskemét, Hungary.
