About CAST:
Community Area Social Indicators Template (CAST) is an educational
website to assist students of urban affairs and community development
in learning how to create community social profiles using indicators,
including those available in online databases such as the US Census...
The website is the idea of Professor Robert J.S. Ross and implemented
by staff members of the Clark University Information and Technology
Services.
An Overview of CAST:
CAST Website is developed to assist students to create community
profiles using Social Indicators. The exercises each use a Template
for calculating or extracting data from primary sources. . The
Website consists of a Homepage and N indicators pages. On the
left of the website is the navigation bar containing Home, Help
and Indicators. Home gives a brief view of CAST with general information
about this site. Help serves as a more detailed page which will
instruct students how to use the CAST website. The Indicators
page will take students directly to the any of the indicators
for exercises and calculation.
