EEE (Eastern Equine Encephalitis) Activity in the Area

Clark University is working closely with campus partners regarding mosquito activity, surveillance and the appropriate response. The Worcester risk level of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE or “Triple E") has been raised to moderate (on a scale of low, moderate, high and critical) due to activity in surrounding areas.

The best way to avoid EEE is to prevent mosquito bites. Strategies include using insect repellent; wearing long sleeves and pants, especially between dusk and dawn, when mosquitoes are most active, and getting rid of mosquito-breeding sites by emptying standing water.
