Readmission
Students who have voluntarily withdrawn from the University, and feel that this decision was not in their best interest and would like to return, may complete an application for Readmission through the Dean of Students Office. If you have voluntarily withdrawn, and would like to return to the University please call the Dean of Students Office at extension 7423. For further information regarding the Readmission process, please refer to the information below.
Procedure:
A student who has voluntarily withdrawn or who has been withdrawn for disciplinary reasons, through the University Judicial Board, must complete an application with the Dean of Students Office. Applications are due by July 1 st for readmission for the fall semester and by December 1 st for readmission for the spring semester.
As part of the application process, students should contact the Office of Residential Life and Housing and the Office of Financial Assistance (if applicable) for forms and information well in advance of the application deadline. An application for financial aid or housing will be considered tentative until the Dean's Office has notified those offices that a favorable readmission decision has been reached. Readmission to the institution will be completed when housing plans are approved by the Office of Residential Life and Housing and all financial responsibilities cleared with the Office of Student Accounts.
All the supporting materials listed below must accompany this application before readmission will be considered:
- A personal letter explaining the circumstances surrounding the withdrawal or disciplinary withdrawal.
- If you withdrew voluntarily, your letter should explain how you spent the intervening time away from Clark and your reasons for returning.
- If you were withdrawn for disciplinary reasons, your letter should address, in detail, your preparedness to return to Clark and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the reasons of your being asked to leave.
- A proposed plan of study for the first two semesters following readmission .
Your plan should incorporate those courses which you know will be approved and required by your major department at Clark . Your plan must be signed by your Faculty Advisor or Academic Advising.
- A signed Major Declaration form from the department or program indicating acceptance as a major, if you have not already done so.
Juniors and seniors are also required to be in contact with their Faculty Advisor to discuss their major program as part of the readmission pr oc ess. Seniors must also submit a Graduation Clearance Form.
- A cleared student account.
An applicant may be requested to come to the campus for an interview or to supply additional information to support his/her decision to return to Clark . Once all required material has been received and all obligations to the University have been met, the readmission can be processed.
