Same Room Sign-Up

Same Room Sign-Up is for all residents wishing to remain in their current housing assignment for the 2012-2013 academic year. To apply for Same Room Sign-Up, please login to your My Lottery account.

Same Room Sign-up Application Deadline:  March 12th

All students currently living in a hall/house room (except those living a Blackstone RA Apartment, Bullock Hall, Wright Hall, or Sanford Hall, or a Special Triple- see exclusions below for more details) who wish to return to their same community may reserve the space by participating in the “Same Room Sign-Up” process. You must be able to completely fill the room (with or without buy-outs) in order to sign-up during Same Room Sign-up.   If you sign up during the Same Room Sign-up process, you may not participate any further in the selection process and will not receive a Lottery Number for Lottery Night. *In the event that a space must be re-designated for administrative purposes (negating its availability to the current resident), you will be notified the week of March 19 and reassigned to a similar space elsewhere.

Same Room Sign-Up Roommates and Suitemate Options

  • Triple rooms may be selected during “Same Room Sign-Up” by a group of three students. At least one person must be returning to the triple room. Forms are available on-line through My Lottery.
  • Students living in a suite can do Same Room Sign-Up ONLY if 50% or more of the current residents of the suite are returning to the same suite. (i.e. a 6-person suite can only do Same Room Sign-up if at least 3 members of the suite are returning). You MUST fill the remaining spaces in your suite completely in order to secure the space (with or without buy-outs). Forms are available online through My Lottery.
  • Single rooms in a suite can be filled during Same Room Sign-up. If, for example, you live in a 4-person suite and you and one other member of your suite are remaining in your double room and the 2 single rooms are available, you CAN sign your friends in to those singles.  Forms are available on-line through My Lottery.
  • Students on leave may be pulled into a room as part of Same Room Sign-Up. If you intend to have a student on leave live with you, you will need to submit their paperwork along with the other members of the room / group.
  • Students being pulled into a space will complete the Same Room Sign-up process in My Lottery, and select the option that they are being pulled into the space.

Note that current residents have priority for staying in a room over pulled-in students.  In the event of a dispute over who will stay in a room for the next year, RLH will expect the current residents to make that decision.  If no compromise is reached, neither students will be allowed to do Same Room Sign-Up.

Exclusions

  • Students living in Wright, Bullock, or Sanford hall CANNOT participate in Same Room Sign-Up in order to allow the incoming first year class to live there in the fall.
  • RAs, and students currently living in a Blackstone Hall apartment with an RA CANNOT participate in Same Room Sign-Up. Students in a house currently living with an RA MAY participate in Same Room Sign-Up as there will not be RAs in the RLH Houses next year.
  • There are some isolated rooms on campus which are ineligible for Same Room Sign-Up due to their intended use next year. For example, Special Triples in Hughes, Dodd, and Johnson are all being used for staff housing next year and therefore students living there currently may not do Same Room Sign-Up.  Your My Lottery account will indicate if your room is eligible for Same Room Sign-Up.  If your room is indicated as ineligible, and you don't know why, feel free to email Kevin Forti.
