During the summer of 2010 Clark University performed major renovations on Bullock Hall and Wright Hall - two of our First Year Residence Halls, and our most traditional style living facilities.  Some of the many improvements that resulted from these renovations included:

  • New social lounges on Floors 1, 2, and 3 in both buildings.  These lounges have all new furniture, pool tables, flat screen TVs, and vibrant colors and unique themes throughout.  Students are able to hang out, play pool, watch TV, play video games, sit and use their laptops, or just relax.
  • All new bathroom facilities throughout both buildings provide students with more attractive and functional lavatory access.  These new bathrooms have shower facilities with private changing areas attached to the individual showers themselves.
  • New lobbies with elevators for increased access for our students with physical disabilities, and increased convenience for all students.  These new lobbies are part of additions which expand the footprint of the buildings and create additional space on each of the upper floors.
  • New multimedia study rooms with data connections and 52" flat screen monitors for presentations and group work.  Students are able to hookup their laptop computers and give presentations to other students, or work collaboratively on a project utilizing the computer terminal and flat screen monitors.
  • New quiet study rooms for group or individual study sessions.  Students are able to organize modular furniture to setup small study tables, or combine them for larger groups.
  • New laundry rooms on the second floor of both buildings.  These facilities are centrally located and feature an internet kiosk and a laptop computer workspace so that students can hang out and surf the internet while doing their laundry.
  • New kitchens on the 3rd floor of both buildings give students access to deluxe kitchen facilities with eat-in dining space for sharing a meal with friends.
  • New social spaces at the corners of the hallways open up the halls and provide students with additional community space for socializing and studying.
  • The current laundry rooms in the basement of these buildings were converted to bike storage rooms with card access added to the nearest exterior doors for easy storage of student bicycles.

These projects begin simultaneously on May 12th, the day the halls closed for the summer.   Certificates of Occupancy were obtained three days before the entire First Year class moved in for the Fall Semester.  Both projects were designed and built by Cutler Associates of Worcester.  Below you can find links to the architects floor plans for each building.
