Tim St. John joined the Clark community in December 2013 and currently serves as the Assistant Dean for Campus Life. In his role, Tim oversees both Student Leadership and Programming and Residential Life and Housing. Tim’s primary roles are ensuring a campus life experiences full of engagement opportunities for students, overseeing all new student orientation programs, serving as a chair for the Sexual Offense Hearing Board, and working to support all students in their success at Clark. Tim also advises the Clark Undergraduate Student Council. Professionally, Tim serves as the Communications Coordinator for the Association of College Unions International’s Region VIII Leadership Team.

Prior to joining Clark, Tim was Associate Director for Student Involvement & New Student programs at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. Tim received his M.S. in Counseling and Applied Educational Psychology from Northeastern University and his B.S. in Sport Management from the University of New England.

Tim is originally from Leominster, MA where he lives with his family now. He is an avid Boston sports fan who also enjoys running, reading, and spending time with family.

Kate Cassidy started working at Clark in 2016 and currently serves as the Director of Campus Life for Residential Life & Housing.  The Director of Campus Life for Residential Life & Housing provides the overall supervision and direction for Residential Life and Housing as well as overseeing the University response to code of conduct violations for graduate and undergraduate students. This position directly supervises the four professional Hall Directors in efforts to direct both strategic long term initiatives and the operational requirements of the residential experience. This position also serves as a vital member of the community in regards to on-call response, retention management, student resource allocation and the overall wellness of students as they matriculate to success.Kate received her B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross, and her M.S. from The University of Rhode Island.  In her spare time, Kate enjoys climbing rocks both indoors and outdoors, hiking, reading, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and crafting.

Kamaro Abubakar joined Clark University in 2016 and currently serves as an Assistant Director for Campus Life. In this role, Kamaro develops and implements the leadership training of Clark University campus leaders and first year students. He provides Social Justice Programs for professional staff, student leaders, and the student body. Kamaro manages and designs a social media and marketing approaches for all of campus life and manages the Hall Governance Program. Prior to Clark University, Kamaro worked at SUNY Purchase College as a Residence Hall Coordinator and served as the Chair of the Division of Student Affairs Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Kamaro served as a leadership educator at Roosevelt University in Chicago where he oversaw undergraduate student leadership programs. Kamaro is originally from Ghana, West Africa and loves soccer. He received his M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Loyola University in Chicago and his B.S. from the University of Vermont. He received his certification from the Social Justice Training Institute (SJTI) in 2015.

Hall Directors

Hall Directors are professional staff members living in the residence halls. Hall Directors are committed to the growth and development of residential college students, living in their respected areas. Hall Directors supervise the RA staffs within their area, as well as advise residents concerning personal and/or academic concerns, promote hall programs and activities, advise their hall council and manage many aspects of residence hall life within their specific Hall or residential center.

Hall Director & First Year Experience Coordinator

Saly El Dayaa joined the Clark community in March 2017 as a Hall Director and First Year Experience Coordinator. As a Hall Director, she supervises and supports the Resident Advisors within her area, advises and encourages residents with personal and academic concerns, promotes community life, programs, and events, and oversees and manages the day-to-day development and operations of 400 first-year and upper-class students. In addition, Saly serves as a University Hearing Officer to conduct student disciplinary proceedings and works with the Assistant Dean of Campus Life, the Director of Campus Life, and the Assistant Director of Campus Life regarding housing and campus living.

As a First Year Experience Coordinator, she initiates and implements programming geared toward the engagement of first year students, specifically creating and managing involvement opportunities for students such as orientation social activities, marketing efforts, club fairs, and information sessions.

Saly grew up in Norwood, MA, received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from UMass Boston, and her master’s degree in advertising from Boston University. She loves to travel, read, hike, experience new things (especially cultures, food, and always desserts), and go on adventures.
