Physical Plant:
Per Diem Custodial/Grounds

Clark University’s Physical Plant Department seeks a responsible and motivated individual to assist in maintaining University buildings and grounds including but not limited to: cleaning, vacuuming, removal of trash, recycling, spot cleaning carpets, mowing, raking, weeding, seeding, sodding, snow removal and treatment; furniture moving, event setups and other duties as assigned. The per diem status does not provide benefits and there are no guaranteed hours; however, it is likely the hired individual will work approx. 10-20hrs/week depending on the season and needs of the University. There will be particular demand during the winter months related to snow removal. This position is considered “essential personnel” when engaged to work.

The successful candidate will have knowledge, understanding and the ability to use basic cleaning methods and tools, as well as knowledge and understanding of grounds equipment and use of power equipment and tools related to grounds work. . Capability to work alone without supervision. The ability to communicate with basic language skills. Strength to lift 50- 75 pounds regularly and withstand the strain of performing manual tasks. Capacity to get up on a ladder 6ft or less and the ability to represent as a positive member of the Clark Community. Must take pride in work, provide reliable contact information, and have a flexible schedule. Physical Plant staff are considered essential personnel and are expected to report to work during emergency closings.
