The Leir Luxembourg Program-Clark University offers scholarships for outstanding Clark undergraduate and graduate students to honor the memory of Dr. h.c. Henry J. Leir. We envision these scholarships as an opportunity for our students to enhance their academic knowledge as well as their professional résumés through an international experience.
The Henry J. Leir Student Summer Research Scholarship and the Henry J. Leir Ph.D. Research Scholarship are prestigious, generous awards. Students must be nominated by a Clark tenure-line professor. Contact Uwe Gertz (UGertz@clarku.edu) for further information.
The Henry J. Leir Student Summer Research Scholarship
This generous scholarship allows a Clark student to conduct research with an organization in Luxembourg for six to eight weeks during the summer. This opportunity thus allows undergraduate students to enter the professional world while learning more about Luxembourg.
The Henry J. Leir Ph.D. Research Scholarship
This program allows a Ph.D. candidate from Clark's Economics Department to participate in a highly prestigious, one-year internship with The Banque Centrale du Luxembourg.
Wunnraum fir Stagiairen - Student Accommodations
The Wunnraum fir Stagiairen is a non-profit organization that provides modern and comfortable lodging for interns.
Mr. Jul Christophory, the President, attempts to sustain an environment that encourages international exchange.
While LLP-CU will do its best to secure housing at the Wunnraum, we cannot guarantee a placement, as conditions vary from year to year. In a year when it is not possible to reside at the Wunnraum, we will do our best to secure reasonable housing in Luxembourg, which may mean that the student is placed with a host family. A scholarship will have to be cancelled if appropriate housing cannot be secured.
