- The May Term in Luxembourg
Overview: The May Term
The May Term is an intensive short-term academic program in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg open only to Clark students.
For The May Term 2017, we are offering one course on European affairs. The course carries one full unit of Clark credit and has no prerequisites.
Courses in The May Term Program are taught by Clark faculty in English. Importantly, all courses relate directly to Luxembourg and/or European conditions and affairs. As part of the May Term experience, students broaden their classroom learning by participating in field trips to sites of particular interest in Luxembourg and surrounding countries.
The new May Term application deadline for The May Term 2017 is February 20, 2017. All applications will be reviewed as they are being received and students will be notified asap.
Open only to Clark students, the 2017 May Term offers an invaluable learning experience. The Leir Luxembourg Program has heard student voices to offer the "Europe at the Crossroads" course this year. So, we are:
-- Reducing the program fee to $4,900 from $5,400 (each accepted student will be subsidized by The Leir Foundation by ca. $1,700);
-- Increasing the 8 available The Henry J. and Erna D. Leir Merit Scholarships to $750 from $500;
-- Increasing the 8 available The Henry J. and Erna D. Leir Excellence Through Diversity Scholarships to $750 from $500.
As always, students on need-based financial aid during the academic year also qualify for financial aid. The range of aid in the past has been between $200 and $2,100.
