Video Quality

Most videos on this site are available in two versions, one optimized for high bandwidth connections and a second for low bandwidth connections. If you are experiencing herky jerky playback, or seeing a small low resolution image on a high speed connection when playing video on a web page it may be a result of internet traffic conditions, but it may also be the case that the connection speed is set incorrectly on the QuickTime plug-in.

To check and/or change your connection speed setting go through the following steps. You will need to know what your internet connection speed is, so if you don't know that you may want to contact your ISP first before proceeding.

  1. Click on the triangle at the lower right hand corner of the video
  2. A menu will pop up, select Connection Speed...
  3. A window will appear with options to change the connection speed, select the speed appropriate for your internet connection.
