Clark University is Named “Hottest School for Student Research” in new Kaplan/Newsweek Guide

WORCESTER, MA - Clark University has been recognized by the 2006 Kaplan/Newsweek Guide as one of "America's 25 Hot Schools."

Clark has earned the designation “Hottest for Student Research.”

The annual Kaplan/Newsweek College Guide hits newsstands today. It provides detailed information on the latest admissions trends and updated perspective on key features of campus life.

According to Jay Mathews, Newsweek contributor and Washington Post reporter who authored the “hottest colleges” article, all of this year’s “Hot Schools” are “creating buzz among students, a broad array of educators and admissions experts,” and each “is effectively preparing students for the complex world.”

“I have a long list of high school guidance counselors and teachers whom I consult whenever I want to know which colleges are delivering the most value to students,” said Mathews. “They tell me that Clark University has become one of the places most often mentioned by high school graduates who come back to visit their old counselors and say, ‘that college you sent me to is terrific, just like you said.’”

Kaplan has partnered with Newsweek for the past several years and prospective college students and their families have come to rely on the Kaplan/Newsweek College Guide as a trustworthy, unbiased resource. The perennially popular America's 25 Hot Schools section of the guide profiles a handful of dream schools and recognizes each for a choice attribute. The list is designed to help readers uncover appealing options as they create and refine their college targets. It was developed based on admissions trends and interviews with teachers and students.

The 264-page publication is available on newsstands and can also be ordered on Kaplan's Web site (www.kaptest.com/store/) or by calling toll-free 800-KAP-ITEM.
