Office of Study Abroad and Study Away Programs

Faculty have an important role to play in students study away experience from beginning to end.  Our office looks to you and your departments expertiese for the following

  • Advising - see our FAQ section for more information about requirements, academics and credit transfer.
  • Course approval forms.  These are a part of the student's application to study away.  While all courses on an approved partner program will transfer back for Clark credit, students MUST get courses preliminarily "pre-approved" before they apply.  They are given a full set of instructions that direct them to talk to their faculty advisor when picking out courses, bring course syllabi for review and get approval of the courses they wish to take from YOU, the department, for major approval.
  • Departmental scholarships and funding resources for study abroad

While Abroad

  • Sometimes students course selections may change while abroad.  We ask students to e-mail their professors with any changes to confirm their course choices.
  • Students must also still register for courses for the semester they return while they are away.  They will still need online advising, a pin and registration status.

Returning to Campus

  • Credit Transfer - You will help students determine how courses will apply towards their degree progress after they return.
