Chile

Students are eligible to participate in a full-year or one semester program in either Valparaíso or Santiago. The Chile programs require a minimum GPA of 3.0 and students need to have at least three years of college-level Spanish (or equivalent). These programs provide direct enrolment at a Chilean University (Universidad de Chile, Universidad Católica de Chile, and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso). Students will participate in a program orientation upon arrival, have the opportunity to visit various sights, including museums and tours, and can take part in non-credit volunteerism.

In order to better understand the culture and further improve language skills, students will participate in the Community Language Commitment by speaking only Spanish language at all times. Students live with local Chilean families, as arranged by the CIEE program staff.
