Health
According to Massachusetts law, all Clark students have to carry health insurance for the entire academic semester/year. The Clark program cost does not include Clark's health insurance fee. This fee is charged automatically to all students, unless a Clark provided waiver card is filled out. In any case, you must have medical insurance covering you at all times and in all places you visit! For example, you cannot use the British National Health Insurance to waive this requirement.
We encourage you to check if you deem the coverage of your health insurance to be sufficient! It's possible to purchase supplementary insurance for going abroad.
Recommendations for vaccinations and country-specific health data is available from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) at (404) 332-4565. Faxed information about individual diseases, f.ex. malaria, is available by dialing (888) 232-3299. All information is also available on the CDC's Web site, www.cdc.gov.
Even though this will concern only a few students, it also needs to be mentioned here, that students with recent emotional or psychological problems should consult a mental health professional in this country to discuss the potential stress of studying abroad. Mental health treatment is not as widely accessible abroad as it is in the United States.
