So You'd Like to Place an Interlibrary Loan Request?

Book Request

• If you've used a Firstsearch database (WorldCat, EconLit, etc.) or PsycLit, please make sure that the material you intend to order is a book, not a chapter or a journal article. Please try to order only the most importatnt material for your topic. Ordering more than 5 books at a time may delay your requests.
• Make sure that you have a complete citation which includes author, title, publisher, and date.
• Check the Online Catalog to make sure that none of the Clark libraries own this book or material with a similar subject that may be used instead.

Article Request

• Double check your citation to make sure that the citation is for a journal article and not a chapter from a book.
• Make sure that your citation is complete.
• Be sure to include an author, article title, volume number, issue number (if available), page numbers, date of publication, and journal title. Please refrain from turning in requests without at least providing the volume, date of publication, and page numbers.
• Check the Online Catalog and Clink (Electronic Journal Locator) to find out if Goddard Library or the Science Library has access this journal.
• Check the Marsh Institute Journals List to make sure that the Jeanne X. Kasperson Research Library does not have the journal that you are looking for.
• Check the fulltext databases such as InfoTrac and Lexis-Nexis Academic to see if the article can be printed in the library at no charge.

Renewal Requests

• Requests must be made two days prior to the due date. Once the request has been received, you will be sent a confirmation message. Please keep the material until you are contacted with the new due date.
