It is a bibliographic database that indexes articles in Biological
Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Physics,

Sciences and other general science subjects. English-language periodicals
published in the United States and elsewhere are covered; non-English
language articles are also included if English abstracts are provided.

The arXiv is owned, operated, and funded by Cornell University. It
is also partially funded by the National Science Foundation. The arXiv
physics archive was created in 1991 to facilitate the dissemination
of physics literature to the physics community. Today the arXiv is
an e-print service in the fields of physics, mathematics, non-linear
science, computer science, and quantitative biology.

Astrophysics Data System |

Hosted by the Harvard-Smithsonian
Center for Astrophysics, the Astrophysics Data System (ADS) is
a NASA-funded project which maintains four bibliographic databases
containing more than 3.9 million records: Astronomy and Astrophysics,
Instrumentation, Physics and Geophysics, and preprints in Astronomy.
The main body of data in the ADS consists of bibliographic records,
which are searchable through the Abstract
Service query forms.
