Increasing environmental pressures have caused Chinese apparel companies to pay close attention to environmentally-friendly clothes production (EFCP) and its implementation, but barriers exist. This paper uses a grey-based DEMATEL approach to structure and evaluate these barriers. Results show that lack of human resource capabilities and hard to enter EFC major markets as barriers for some apparel manufacturing companies. Other apparel manufacturing companies have basic barriers of no top management support and immaturity of large scale EFCP.  We also introduced aggregate analysis for the set of apparel manufacturing companies and future research directions.
