Brazil's New National Policy on Solid Waste: Challenges and Opportunities

Brazil is a country whose environmental systems, policies and management have received relatively little attention. The country has gone through a number of recent policy shifts in its Solid Waste management. This paper reviews some of this latest policy instruments and discusses further issues that the new policies entail within Brazil. Recommendations are also made.
