This paper focuses on extending the analysis of results from an efficiency and productivity study on cellular manufacturing systems (CMS) as first introduced by Shafer and Bradford. Shafer and Bradford's initial study introduced a methodology that used simulation with data envelopment analysis (DEA) for a multiple performance measure analysis of CMS. Their results provided many insights and showed that simulation and DEA could be used effectively to analyze organizational processes. This paper will extend the DEA analysis portion of the methodology by incorporating cross-efficiency and clustering analysis. These extensions provide a more complete portrayal of the efficiencies of the systems under consideration, allowing for additional managerial insight.
