The objective of this paper is to help define and evaluate agile business processes. Agility is being promoted as a new paradigm for successful enterprises. An agile enterprise is an enterprise whose processes are designed to respond effectively to unanticipated change. One of the difficulties in designing and analyzing business processes, in general, is that they are operational designs that need to incorporate strategic attributes. In order to analyze complex business processes based on strategic and operational agility factors, a networked hierarchical analysis methodology is proposed. This paper presents a holistic evaluation model which combines quantitative and qualitative agility characteristics within this methodology to aid in the configuration of agile business processes. This evaluation model will be based on the analytic network process methodology for solving complex decisions. An actual small manufacturing enterprise example provides some managerial insights into the methodology
