This paper provides some initial insights into the decision planning and modeling for international facilities location for service and repair parts delivery. We focus on the strategic decision making concerns of managers seeking to locate their facilities. Operational issues play a significant role, but are not directly addressed in this paper. We provide a summary of the administrative and managerial processes along with the modeling efforts and models that are currently part of this project and case study. Since the project is in its initial stages, we shall provide the issues that have been addressed to date. As well, we will identify concerns and issues that have arisen and will potentially arise during the life of this project.
