[154] Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (right ) wrote, "You can fake a bone as easily as you can a photograph." Now the creator of Sherlock Holmes is suspected by a U.S. researcher of masterminding the 1912 Piltdown Man hoax. The theory is that Doyle did it to make the scientists of his day look foolish.
