Stephen Burrows

Bio: After graduating from Tri-State University, I began my scientific career at Indiana University in Indianapolis as a Research Assistant and would later move on to Warner-Lambert/Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Research, Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Working in both Cardiovascular and Atherosclerosis departments primarily in enzymology, lipid chemistry, and animal disease models. While at Park-Davis I completed a Masters program at Eastern Michigan University in Biology.  Later moving to G.D. Searle Cardiovascular Disease Research, then on to SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals/Animal Health in the Department of Protein Biochemistry where I began working in recombinant protein chemistry.  My career then moved into the area of biotechnology and biopharmaceuticals.  This included not only research but also development and manufacturing covering many areas including vaccines, enzymes, and therapeutic proteins.  In 2001 a position with a local company brought me to the Worcester area and in early 2003 I joined the Larochelle lab.

Research interests: My research interest and area of study is cellular adhesion and interaction of the molecules which control this process.

More about me : Avid hunter, fisherman, motorcyclist and woodworking are a part of any free time.
